The same weekend that the Delta Venture Unit was created a very cute and furry 'Eagle Owl' was born. It was around the August period of '2000 when 'Raptor Rescue' a rehabilitate group for all birds of prey named this bird after the Delta Venture Unit and ever since he has become our mascot! We'd like to thank Raptor for this amazing honour of having such a special creature named after our Unit, especially as Raptor put a huge amount of time and effort into looking after these special creatures!

Most of our thanks and gratitude must go to our Group Scout Leader Stan Davis as if it wasn't for him our Unit would of never established and developed into what it is today! All the effort and commitment Stan puts in gives the whole Unit inspiration and a drive to improve and constantly be thinking of creative new ideas, thanks Stan!
